About me
Hi, I’m Lauren. I’m originally from the UK, where I grew up in the countryside and was lucky enough to have many different dogs growing up. From a young age, dogs were simply a part of everyday life. We had three beautiful Hungarian Wire haired Vizsla’s called Phoebe, Manton and Indie who were not only skilled gun dogs but also much-loved family pets. They were truly the best dogs I could have asked for. They shaped my life and inspired me to follow my passion for dog training. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t think I would have fallen so deeply in love with dogs or discovered the path I’m on today.
My drive to become a trainer comes from wanting to help owners truly understand their dogs — their language, their behaviour, and their individual needs. I believe that when we understand our dogs properly and give them clear structure, guidance, and appropriate outlets, we give them the best life possible.
Every dog is different. Every breed has unique instincts, drives, and stimulation needs. I believe it’s important to let dogs be dogs — to honour their natural behaviours — while also providing the structure and clarity they need to feel secure and confident.
Watching my dad, who was a gamekeeper and his natural way with our dogs really stayed with me. He trained them with confidence and clear communication, allowing them to work instinctively while still being able to be playful, and simply be part of the family. That balance — between structure and freedom inspired me deeply and shaped the way I see dog training today.
For me, training is all about balance, clear communication, and helping dogs feel safe. I have over six years of experience working with dogs and working with those who have behavioural challenges has strengthened my commitment to advocating for them. When we truly understand what a dog is communicating, we can transform not only their behaviour but also the relationship between dog and owner — creating a happier life for both.
Credentials
I trained and studied under renowned Australian dog trainers Steve Austin and Vicki Austin, where I completed my formal certification in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour. I expanded my practical skills and deepened my understanding of canine behaviour, learning theory, and communication.
I have also continued my professional development by learning from Amy Smith at her Puppy Preschool, gaining valuable insight into early puppy development and the most effective ways to guide and support new puppy owners.
I am committed to ongoing education so I can provide the highest standard of training and support — giving both dogs and their owners the tools they need to thrive.
